hi daniel,
the box says this maxxis tube can support road bike tyres size between 18mm to 25mm. that means if u are using 700x25mm you can use this tube. if deep section wheels you may want to get tubes with longer valves but i believe yours are not.
Yes, I bought a couple of this MAXISS tubes from 2 places and they all said should fit my bike. But when I tried replacing my front tube the otrher day, I ended tearing the side of the tube near the valve. Strange, the tube just wont sit nicely, somehow it bulged up near the valve, why? I talked to another shop and this chap said I should get the thicker tube ? FYI my old tube is thicker and appeard bigger, and I had not problem putting the old one back. Beats me!
Half fill the tube with air before putting the tire back on. when tire is on, refill it to about 50-70% full. Massage the tube(yes massage the tire) until the tube is in place. Remember to screw the head washer to secure the tube. Do not use force since Maxxis inner tube that you are using have thin wall.
Other than it is more expensive, I don't see any advantages of using lighter inner tube. I once punctured two of them in one shot due to worn tires. The thicker walled innertube is cheaper and last longer too.
Yes, I think the thicker tube is better. I'll take the risk and try it again. Thanks for the tips Turbosnail!
