It's actually 138km to and fro Tanjung Dawai from butterworth jetty.
I don't know if there's any >100km ride this week. But if you were game for century(metric or imperial) road ride you can contact MKH for more details too (http://www.mkhkayuh.blogspot.com/).
I am temporary out of action due to work commitments, or I would love to take the group for a spin to Mahang (120km to and fro) or Selama (160km to and fro) on Sunday.

My bad. Should have chacked your profile first before sending my response. Our rides will be chicken feat for you...;) But will definitely post up if there's anything that may be interesting.

Hi, actually I am a really slow cyclist! I am largely just a recreational runner. You recommended your friend, Adren and his group riding in BM on Sunday. How fast does the group go? I am relatively new to cycling but have done Century Ride 2009 and Penang Malakoff Interstate last year. I don't want to slow the group down. And I believe 10% gradient is similar to the gradient of going up Tun Sardon, right?

Chin Chin....with the credential given by Kevin, I am very sure now you will be fine! The group will consist of those who will go for the coming ICR as well. Do join the fun this coming Sunday!
Hi Chin Chin. I can tell you that the super charged group really left me behing with their turbos fully operational. They took off real quickly and did 50+kmh. Most of them were already 75% spent but still could ride home in one piece. I was riding an Italian "buffalo" (my gf) but she helped me went thru a short quick ride with the fast guys and did an average 43kmh for about 2-3min. That was the fastest flat ride I have done at Tjg Dawai. Overall we rode abt 25kmh. No problem for you to join us as long as their wires are not fused:-)

Chin Chin:
You should be able to follow since you survived Malakoff and ICR 2009! Me not even take part in one of them! I am sure you would not have any issue to follow the peloton since most of the time the group is travelling between 27-33kph.
Adren was proposing to us to ride the route above, probably >100km. but the gradient will be challenging for some of us, including me. But I am willing to try that route as it gives me an idea of what to expect during the ICR. The 10% gradient is short, I hope after looking at Google Map. But the climbs will be stretched for a distance so that we will not feel the strain of going up. I hope this Sunday, we will be riding that route.
Hi, is this 136km ride a total distance, or a one way distance? Anyone doing a >100km ride this Sunday? I would love to give this route a try.
