Unique single speed bicycle with no brake
Was fascinated by this bike rode all over Stockholm by old and young. This magnificent ubiquitous machine weighs a ton and comes complete with dynamo which I remember my grandma's bike used to have. I was fascinated as I could not see any brakes mechanism on the handle bars and was wondering how they stop this heavy machine
Have a go at the bicycle and was surprised how easy and stable it is to control. because of the weight once it get moving, it sails through easily. It is a very utility bike around town and i guess it is very eco friendly as they is no battery involved to light up the light at night
In order to stop this machine, one has to pedal backward literally meaning you are reversing the forward movement. I have heard Daniel Shee mentioning about it but to actually feel the bike slowing down by pedalling opposite direction feels funny.
All geared up for a social event run along the canal. A good 630 am exercise before serious work begins.

Dear Doctor,
This photo reminds me of my father's old bicycle which used to be my first ride bicycle at the
age of 8 years old. Besides, it is surprising to see in Sweden, this new machanizmed one is still on
road without uisng battery as well as dinamo friendly with eco.
I was not sure if I have seen this kind of bicycle 40 years ago,in 1970 in Stockholm, perhaps at
that time I did not have enough interest on riding bicycle in the city, but rather having fun on
walkingaround the city to look for smorgos board.(open sandwich ).
I am happy to notice that even at the age of 60 plus, I can still enjoy riding,and hoping this may
last another 20 years time.
Thank you for giving me a chance to remember a beautiful city, Stockholm, again on this photos.
