Hi Ah Loon,
I saw "Samurai " on you!
I got a time to see all the photos taken by Ah Loon this morning ,and found out
a small Samurai among Gaint. smallest one , but the impression I could get from
these photos are diffirent. You are not smallest , but look like a Giant on image with
full of power and energy.
Thank you for keep on sending us so many interesting and beaufiful pictures which would be
one of the treasure in your life. Not everyone can challenge a trip like you, therefore
you are a resresentative among adventuror who wihse to go ahead like you.
Take care, and i hope you can meet Dr.Lim very soon who has been always standing
behinds you, and wishing to challenge the same trip all the time if he could get a enough
time like you. ...Cheers
Susumu

Ah Loon is almost at the border town of Boten, China. Presently he is in Udomxai and I believe the cold and the rain is taking a toll on him. Just received his sms, he was saying he could not sleep, weather was terrible !
We have not received any photos from him since Viang Chan(capital), Laos. Hope once he enters China he can start to send us some nice photos. It's much easier in China as there are heaps of Wang Ba (internet cafes). You pay like rm1 for an hour to use the internet, cheap cheap!
Just spoken to Ah Loon on the HP. He apologise for not being able to send his daily journal and photos last few days, he was struggling from LUANG PRABANG to the border a distance of about 300Km. He has just crossed the border and staying at a small town i.e Mengla where he has no access to the internet.
Over the last 3 nights he had a tough time cycling from LP to the Chinese border. He wasn t prepared for the cold temperature of about 11 *C and below made worse by the rain and inavailability of guest house for the first 2 nights where he had to camp outdoor. Only last night he managed to get to a hotel even then it was in such a poor state not enough warm beddings " like in a fridge" (his own words). The road condition was also appalling with rocks/ sands/ potholes everywhere and he has to push through long distance of muddy roads. The rattling and pouncing on the bicycle was too much, that the screws on his back racks dropped off and could not be found, and he has to make do by tying strings and rubber band to secure the rack. All in all, his conclusion is last 3 days was the toughest and nightmarish ride although the sceneries were breath taking.
He crossed the border today and tomorrow he will cycle from Mengla to Jin Hong which is a bigger town and hope to send us some photos. he should be in Kunming in 1 weeks' time and from day it will be home run to Dali, Lijiang and Shangri La..................
Ah Loon has checked into a small town in China called Meng Yang, He should be arriving Kunming in about one weeks' time.
Received the latest sms from Ah Loon, he will be reaching Kunming in 3 days and from there I believe he will have access to internet and post us some photos
I backpacked there in autumn 2007. Since Ah Loon is not sending us any photos, let me show a photo of Boten. A real coybow town !
Ah Loon sms me in the morning that he camped with his new found friends from UK. One of them cycled with him from Prachup Khiri Khan and the other from Bangkok. Together they are enjoying the new experience in the wild wild Laos !
Are they heading to Muang xai next few days and crossing to Boten and then China within this week? if so the weather can be a hindrance. Currently it's below 9 in Guangzhou and in Kunming could be worse ! Cycling in the cold with cold winds blowing against your face is damn uncomfortable !
Ah Loon still in Bangkok, took his sponsored Vincita pannier and handbar bags from Yingsak yesterday. Tuesday morning 1 March 2011 he will be riding with his buddy, heading for Laos...
Yingsak at a bicycle jersey factory
Yingsak owns a factory making ONLY BICYCLE BAGS ! 90% export to Europe !
Ah Loon will be staying one or two nights in Prachuap Khiri Khan.
While cycling to Prachuap he met another cyclist, an English chap cycling to Kunming. Ah Loon is really glad that now he has a buddy to cycle with him to Bangkok, Vientianne, Luang Prabang, Boten and Kunming.
Just spoke to Ah Loon a while ago. He was staying in Khao San last 2 days, the popular backpackers destination in Bangkok. Ah Loon will meet up with Yingsak tomorrow or day after to get his sponsored pannier, handle bar bag and gel seat cover.
Ah loon heading for the town of Surat Thani ( a town where you can take a ferry to ko samui) Last contact with him was last night
Spoke to Ah Loon today and he told me that his bottom is burning ! I think he needs a good seat or a seat gel cover.
After talking to Ah Loon, I immdiately called Yingsak, boss of Vincita, that Ah Loon needs a gel seat cover. Our generous Yingsak immediatly promised to give Ah Loon TWO gel seat covers ! and a waterproof handlebar bag and waterproof panniers
Give you a sneek preview of the handlebar bag.
The Vincita handlebar bag is waterproof and robustly built to withstand heavy usage. With the made in Germany Klickfix adapter, it will last you for a long time - broken parts can be replaced. The bag can be removed in seconds and you can sling it over your shoulders as carrying bag. Notice that there is a plastic folder with a transparent top. A great add on to allow you to put your maps and handphone ! a velcro holds it firmly to the bag. It's a great bag to have for long cycling or biking tours. I'm sure you will like it !
