G Club Foldie Nite Ride - 28/10/11

Route : Straits Quay > Island Plaza > Tg Tokong > Gurney Drive > Northam Rd > City Hall > Beach St > Church St > Jln Masjid Kapitan Keling > Carnavon St > Acheen St > Armenian St > Canon Sq > Acheen St > Beach St > Chulia St > Penang Rd > Burmah Rd > Pangkor Rd > Kelawei Rd > Tg Tokong > Island Plaza > Straits Quay.
Regroup Points:
1) In front of City Hall
2) Armenian St Basketball Court
3) In front of the old Majestic Cinema (Right after Police IPK, Pg Rd)
This will be the 2nd time G Club organizing Foldie Night Ride. We will ride from St Quay to Heritage area and back.
Bicycles shops will be joining us this time to display their fleet of foldies as well as accessories at St Quay Middle Court from 5.00pm
Registration is free . You can either register online via www.gclub.com.my or at selected bicycle shops.
1st 200 foldie owner will be entitled for lucky draw of which, at least 2 foldie will be up for grab as well as other prizes.
If you fail to sign up online or via bicycle shop (closing date 21/10/11, Friday) , on the spot registration can on event date be done but on "first come first serve" basis provided there are still slots available.
Do look out for further updates.

6.45pm : On the spot registration
7.45pm : Ride starts
9.15pm : Ride ends
9.30pm Start of lucky draw

the route map for FOLDIE NITE RIDE is now ready, please go thru it and make sure you follow the planned route.
we will have 2 lead riders and 2 sweepers right behind the convoy.
there will be 3 regroup points to keep the whole group intact. please follow instractions from marshals and PKSPP (8 motorbikes).

I just rode up when there this morning, u mean at the temple area? we can BBQ...hehehe who will carry the bbq pit! Or just collect $$$ call for buffet up there! Ok ar?
Hi Hahnyee, good idea indeed, as to who is going to carry the BBQ pits up that can be arrange as bike can go up there... so longas if there are interested party then why not? I don't know what temple you meant, obviously not the tarmac road temple, what I meant is "Tai Ka Lok" we have to go through off road to reach there~!!~
hi EC rider, i heard some hiker told me that have a white colour dog biting cyclists when they reach Tai Ka Lok. U heard of that? And if u go at night is so dangerous and dark.
I hvae not heard of any dogs bites on cyclist in Tai Ka Lok before, the few dogs during the way will be around the horse stable only, and the dogs are friendly, at night if we ride in a group should not be a problem, as we all have lights right? I got a group of frens who used to ride up Tai Ka Lok on every Wednesday night before.... I have not ridden up at night beofre but I think is very adventurous and exciting... hehehe~!~
I thought that there will be a press conference at Youth Park this afternoon, I drove there but didn't managed to see anyone pertaning this matter~!~ :(

Yes Beh, you are welcome to ride with us, but not entitle for lucky draw.
In order to be entitled for lucky draw (foldie owner only), you are required to register for the ride.
Registration fomrs can be obtained from following shops :-
Chin Aik, Lim Cycle and Green Ride Eco Shoppe
or you can register only. Only for 1st 200 foldies... it's free !!! :)
for those who wish to register online, pls log in to www.gclub.com.my and register via "UPCOMING EVENTS".
we will verify your registration and if you are a foldie owner, a ride number will be issued to you of which, it will be your lucky draw number (same as CFAL system)
if you want to be sure, please go to the shops that we had appointed to register.

also, since this is the first time i am joining, is it ok for me to try half-way?A bit worried i may not have the stamina to complete the journey, especially at night. :)

Khoo, yr name is already in the list.
on the event day, the full list will be printed out again and you have to be at the venue to "check in" and collect yr ride number, which is also yr lucky draw number.
you should be able to finish the whole journey as it's just about 22km only. but, in the event you are unable to finish, pls be back at SQ when we draw the prizes, you are still entitled.
