Ride with CM training ride
We have about three more Sundays before the actual ride. I am thinking of setting up a training ride for those who would like to get themselves accustomed to a ride distance that is longer than their usual weekend rides. This coming Sunday is already reserved for an MTB outing. I am thinking of doing a Gurney Drive - Teluk Bahang - Balik Pulau - Pulau Betung - Teluk Bahang - Gurney Drive on this following Sundays:
11 Oct 2009
18 Oct 2009
Distance to be 90km (approx.), more distance covered than round island would cover.
Suggest to start the ride at 7.30am so that we could get it done before noon. All riders with road bike and MTB on slicks are welcome. Of course, no helmet no ride! ...;)

I am thinking of doing the road ride again this coming Saturday to Pulau Betung. The route is as follow:
Gurney drive - Tanjung Bungah - Batu Ferringhi - Teluk Bahang - Sungai Rusa - Pulau Betung and back. Distance is around 85km round trip.
I will start my ride at around 7.30am from Pulau Tikus.
Anyone interested can join me on the way. I will make my ride to pass by the following usual meeting points at G Hotel, McDonald's Gurney, Caltex Tanjung Tokong and Pearl Hill.
As usual, no helmet no ride! Those on MTBs are encouraged to do the ride on slick tires as it will be easier on your pocket and energy...;)
Now we are done with MTB ride. Time for metric century next week?
Next Sunday's ride will be G Club's weekly "Bahang Ride"
As such, i suggest we go ahead with the Bahang Ride and for those who need all the practice they need to "make the 5 hours" qualifying, to keep riding until they finish the whole round island. I am sure turbosnail would be more than happy to lead all the way. As for the participants who are the Teluk Bahang route, make a U turn and head back to the starting point.
Having said this, G Club welcome all those participants involved in the "round island" & teluk bahang" ride on 25th October to join us.
Ride details will be posted in the "event board".
Cheers and happy riding.
G Club
I would love to join you all this time. As I'm a newbie with MTB, I don't think I can follow up the racing bike. I will take my time slowly and enjoy the ride.... My mission is to complete less than 5 hours.
Best regards, Ray

you'll be surprised at how 'slow' we go !! most of the time, "we eat more than ride" and will end up with a story to tell.
