Round island
Rela did a fantastic job, thumbs up Rela ! In a way gclub has set a standard for future organisers to follow ?! However lets hear from those who were at the back of the ride before we continue to heap praises on gclub. I heard of some complaints that some Rela guys dissapeared prematurely before the ride was over? is this true? maybe we can hear some feedback.

Yes, Daniel. This is true. i am one of the ones that came in over the 4 hour mark, and saw around 8 RELA guys on motorbikes all left their stations and heading back towards town, and there were still cyclists behind me. i saw the little boy (on blue bmx?) and his father approaching the Island Plaza traffic junction. Peak traffic builds up at that area past 10 am... and at the Sunrise Tower junction though one of the RED arrow signs were tied to the municipal signboard to turn left, some cyclist even missed that and accidentally traversed Jalan Kelawai instead of Gurney Drive on the way back.
Heard from a few close friends who took part in the round island ride and they mentioned to me that the ending was a bit of an anti-climax.
One round islander had a cramp and upon arrival he had to hop around asking fellow riders resting along the roadside where to collect his jersey !! There was no one to help him or any sign to direct him.
Dear Sugi,
this is 1 area which i admit we failed to plan well ahead. the directions for collecting jerseys and food.
upon realising this, i had personally went around (numerous times) informing riders where to collect the jersey and when the bento lunch arrived.
had also inform the Girl Guides / Rangers to inform riders to direct them to the middle tent.
we shall take note of it.
i guess as the saying goes "nobody's prefect" !!! our apologies....
cheers, Captain
