Painful Experiance
Never Carry any Stuff in Hand while Cycling
As I planned to join the riding of G-Club on this Sunday, so last nite I was cycling to the bike shop nearby to buy the helmet.
And, I was cycling back to home with the helmet in box carried with plastic beg hung infront the handle bar.
Then, the accident went on, as unawarely the box got stuck with my leg, and the handle twisted, so unevenyl fell dow in the speed about 25km/hour.
For that, I have mild scratches & wound on my leg, hand, and face, strain on hand and body. And also, swell on forehead as it heavly impact with ground.
Anyways, thanks god that there were no car behind me, that safe my life.
I am the beginner, just have my MTB for a month, but unfortunately happened of this accident. Anyway, this would not fade me ou from cycling.
Hopefully I shall join G-Club for the very first time in the soonest after recovering.
So, just share the painful experiance here, so that it would not happen to any others.

Use a backpack next time if you should want to buy anythng to be carried from your bike. Alternatively, can also install a bbicycle carrier behind the bike lar... :P
Anyways, have a good recovery and hope to see you up and about again soon!
Regards,
Jason
Dear Benghan,
i hope u get speedy recovering too.
"No pain no gain".
Dear Benghan,
It's remind me when my mum bought for me my first Racing Bike (Second Hand). I just stared at the racing bike for hours even though it's an old racing bike. I do understand the feeling of having a new bike and your first Helmet. You would like to have your helmet unwrap in the box so that when you reach home, you can sit down and appreciate your first helmet. Luckily, you just got a mild scracthes. I hope that you will get a speedy recovery and join the G-club ride soon...
Best Regards, Ray
sometimes when u first bought the helmet, u will a bit shy to wear it cause some non cyclist friends may laugh at you. Once u used to it, it will be quite awkward to ride without helmet.
I used to tell fellow cyclist riding without helmet with us, he may think is ok and never mind, but once accident happened, we will be very busy to bring him to hospital and spoil all the weekend fun.
Chehhh........if you have just bought the helmet, why weren't you wearing it on your way home?
maybe the wife needs the box leh !!!
but a lesson to other riders, do not carry things that you don't need when cycling.
does "bicycle stand" count ?? *grin*
I just can't help but laugh my pants off after reading the responses!
On serious note, it should be developed into a habit to wear brain bucket no matter what or where do you want to ride your bicycle. Accidence happens!
Actually i had a accident when riding downhill with my friends racing bike on the Bukit gambir road heading towards USM.it was fun that we race downhill since there are no cars around.then out of sudden i the bike lost control and slammed me directly into the grass infront of the petronas.dont ever think of the bike, cause it is total lost.and scratches all over knees and tigh and the helmet looks like as if it was just sandblasted.it took me 2 months to have a complete recovery.that incident happen when i was just 15.(2 years back).haha,i still live to tell the story...
