This is a second announcement to obtain feedbacks from members and fellow cyclists on our 3 monthly workshop/seminar. The G club has allocation/sponsorship to conduct the above relating to bicycling. If it is of benefit to a wide spectrum of community it will please our sponsors more. So hope you all could contribute some ideas.
Tentatively, we we coming up with;

Dear Fellow Riders,
After collecting some of feedbacks from the riders especially the newcomers, one of the request is to organize a basic bicycle workshop especially for emergency repairs during the rides. Basic things that we plan to cover are
* How to choose the correct bicycle size.
http://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=131
* Minor adjustment for comfortable riding posture
* Pre-riding check-up
* Basic Maintenance - chain, freewheel, bottom bracket, brakes, Rear Derailleur & Front Derailleur tuning etc
* Emergency repairs - tyre puncture, broken chain, minor rim adjustment etc.
If you have more suggestions, please don't hesitate to reply to this forum or email us.
Hope to see you soon, Ray
Hi, I think you might want to add some basic stuff like safety, hand signals, and bike handling. But not sure if you have enough time to cover everything.
Btw, if you start the ride at 9.30am, I think its gonna get really hot. I went out this morning, and got back at 11+. Almost got roasted. Now is the beginning of the so-called hot and dry season.
Please check http://www.parktool.com/ for further information.
Dear Ray,
For d Emergency Repair section, i would like to suggest that add in > Brake jam and Rear Derailleur hanger band solution / by pass.
Have a Nice Day.
chia
Dear Chia,
Thank you. I will put the Brake Jam and RD hanger band solution in the workshops. If anyone have some request on the workshops, you are welcome to give suggestions.
Best Regards, Ray

Dear Dr,
It is such a good idea to provide the workshop for members & riders.
This is my understanding for the past 50 years riding, these knowledges are fundamental
and need to know it in advance before going out to any riding , however many of riders may not
be well aware of it. " Safety First " policy is required even for riding !
Besides from the sponsors point of view, it something happened, it may create a big problem
for sponsor as well as for the riders themself ,
so i think it is essential to have these workshop.
Many thanks for the preparation of such an important & essential workshop for us.
Susumu
P.S
Additional workshop is required.
AAA) " what to do before going out for riding "
BBB) " What is the checking point on bicycle ",,,air ,break,etc.
Thank you Susumu San, Really appreciate yr feedback and hope more will contribute some ideas to run the workshops. We can include the pre riding bicycle checks as you hv suggested during the third bicycle workshops. Ideally we shud get this important workshop going first.
