Penang to Singapore Ride - Cycle for the Deaf
An interesting proposition. Over a bowl of Hokkien mee, Wusolow asked if any of us are going to the Singapore OCBC cycling event and that he will be cycling from Penang to Singapore over a period of about a week. ( I think he will blog more on this forth coming adventure) The ever humble Wusolow will be riding solo which we feel is a waste. Since he has been very active in the G club, we persuaded him to ride with our veteran rider cum webmaster, Daniel Shee under the G Club banner and cycle for a cause to raise the awareness of the handicapped.
Wusolow and I (hopefully Daniel also) will be presenting a working paper on this forth coming event slotted end of February or early March to our partner club i.e the Rotary Club Of Tg Bungah this coming Tuesday, 29th December, 2009 at 9 pm at the Sandy Bay Paradise Hotel. Please do come and listen. We the cyclists could support them by riding along with them as far as time and energy permit. I am planning to ride until Taiping with them if it takes off.

Dear Wusolow,
If it's a charity ride or cycling for a good cause, I will definately join in.....
See you all in the meeting,Ray
Dear Ray,
Thanks and good to have you aboard. (Hmm... I'm slowing loosing my lone cyclist image lah....Hai yaah next time must secretly do it then come back and tell you all....hehehe! Hey don't take it seriously, I'm only joking.)
I was away in KL the past week. Came back a day before G Club's second Bicycle Emblem & Signage launch. After seeing you guys off for the Heritage Trail Ride, Dr, Robert, nightrider and myself decided to have breakfast before going home. Proceeded to a coffee shop adjacent to Chin Aik Cycle for hokkien mee. I enquired if any G Club members will be riding in the coming Malakoff Interstate Ride. I further added that I'll be joining the OCBC Cycle Singapore 2010 in March. That when Dr started the 'Bicycle wheel' in motion.
My original intention was to cycle from Penang to KL just before CNY, spend a couple of days in KL before continuing the journey to S'pore. Arrive a few days before the event which is from 6th to 7th March'10, explore S'pore, bike shops, and have a well deserved S'pore long hair eye wash...imagine having ridden for so many kilometers it must be a feast for the tired eyes loh.....:-))
Well we (Dr, Daniel, Senior Lim and myself) met this morning where Senior Lim shared his experience in respect of the propose ride.
I'm still in the midst of planning so will keep you update of future developments.
BTW here's a link to some bike shop listings in S'pore http://www.smbf.com.sg/bikeshop.htm
Warmest regards,
wusolow
Retired teacher Mr Lim (I call him Lim Lao Shi) told me a while ago that his buddy Choo and another chap are keen to go !!! Whoa, suddenly we have confirmed 4 riders ! Mind you Lao Shi and his buddy are in their mid sixties and both have cycled to Singapore before ! SO YOUNG GCLUBIANS WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Dear Daniel,
Glad to hear more people will join this ride...Looking forward for this ride....If I do it now, when I'm old at least I can tell my son that I manage to cycle from Penang to Singapore... another history in my life...
Best Regards, Ray
Hi Ray, can joIN US AT SANDY BAY PARADISE TONIGHT AT 9 PM FOR A BRIEF DISCUSSION?
Dr & Wusolow,
It will be good if we can get a few more Gclub members to ride. But anyhow I will have to confirm my participation.

Daniel Shee
