Due to the numerous feedbacks that we received the duration of the workshop will be extended from 8 am to 10 am at the New World Park. It will be conducted by 2 experts each demonstrating on 1) how to maintain and care for your precious bicycle; 2) how to do basic repairs to your bicycle such as punctures etc etc. You can ride along your bicycle or you can drive to attend the workshops. The workshop's aims to to equip cyclists with the basic knowledge maintenance and emergency repairs.
We will try to make this first workshop as conducive as possible and we will provide simple breakfast for the first 100 participants on a first come first serve basis. Coupons will be issued on the morning of the workshop and it will entitle you to your breakfast as well as your lucky draw. Chin Aik has generously sponsored 10 lucky draws; 3 branded cycling helmets and 7 other bicycle related items.
There will be a "happy hour sales' of limited amount of bicycle accessories at very good discounts or shall we say at prices that you will not normally get on normal days from any bicycle shops. This happy hour sales will only be during the duration of the workshop. So if you need a good pair of gloves, come along, you may get lucky!!
Jason aka nightrider has also designed a nice car sticker "SAVE THE PLANET, RIDE FOR HEALTH - SHARE THE ROAD". We hope to get it ready on time for the workshop and distribute to those WHO CARE. The aim of the car sticker is to create awareness on the road sharing concept and also to promote cycling. The sticker is very well design, you must see it to believe it, thanks to nightrider. It is sponsored by CIMB FOUNDATION..
CONTENT OF WORKSHOP;
* How to choose the correct bicycle size.
* Basic bicycle terminology.
* Minor adjustment for comfortable riding posture.
* How to wash or clean the Bicycle
* Pre-riding checks
* Basic Maintenance - chain lube, freewheel, bottom bracket, brakes, Rear Derailleur (RD) & Front Derailleur (FD) tuning etc
* Emergency repairs - tyre puncture, broken chain, chain fall down, minor rim adjustment, brakes jam, RD hanger band solution etc.

Dear fellow rider,
We going to have a short press conference at 5:00pm on 26th January in New World Park to create more awareness among the public. We hope these will attract more cyclist especially the solo rider and other cyclist from various club to attend this workshop.
Note: This workshop is cater for everyone who have bicycle with two wheels.....

I would like to share some Good News with you. For this first bicycle workshop, we managed to get some fund from the our sponsors. With the limited fund, we can only provide 100 breakfast set to the riders on the first-come first-served basis. In addition, there will be a Lucky Draw. Thanks for supporting us. Normally, we park our bike near hawker's centre. I think you can bring along the bike in the new world park. But we need to confirm with the new world park management.

It will only be workshop. By the time we finished it will be too hot and late to ride and I am sure lots of us will want so spend time catching up with old friends too. So lets learn something from the experts on how to maintain our precious bike and how to wriggle out of a bicycle mechanical emergencies.

We are going to have a workshop from 8:00am to 10:00am. I think after the workshops, majority of the riders will be too anxious about fixing their own bikes. Also, they will bombard with questions to our 2 technical SIFU. I'm afraid that we will end up finish at about 11am or noon.

Thanks for your feedback (safety, hand signals, and bike handling). We will try to include in this workshops if we have some time. If not, we will put in KIV. We encourage more feedbacks from the rider so that we can include it in the next workshops.
